# How to Change Bybit’s Position Mode to Hedge Mode?

Generally, if you have **no positions** in your Bybit **Futures account**, when you use it for the **first time**, the position mode setting will be **automatically** switched to **\[Hedge Mode]**, so that the robot can be started normally.

Of course, it cannot be ruled out that you may also encounter situations where automatic switching **cannot be performed**, so you need to go to Bybit to **manually** select **\[Hedge Mode]**.

Please follow the instructions in the pictures below:

**Step 1*****:*** Open Bybit App, log in to your account, click **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**Trade**</mark>**]**, and then click **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**Futures**</mark>**]**, Finally click the icon in the upper right corner, As follow:

**Step 2*****:*** Enter the futures page, Click **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**Trading Preferences**</mark>**]** on the page,  As follow:

**Step 3*****:*** Enter the Trading Preferences page, click **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**Position Mode**</mark>**]**,  As follow:

**Step 4*****:*** Select **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**Hedge Mode**</mark>**],** Check **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**Apply to all USDT-Perp pairs**</mark>**]**, Then Click **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**OK**</mark>**]**. Setting Success. As follow:
