# How to Change the One-way Mode of HTX to Hedge Mode?

If the page reports an error: "Hedge mode can't changed if there exists position, please go to the exchange to change".

You need to go to HTX to modify it.

Please follow the instructions in the pictures below:

**Step 1*****:*** Open HTX App, log in to your account, click **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**Futures**</mark>**]** on homepage bottom to enter the futures trading page, As follow:

**Step 2*****:*** On the futures trading page, Click on the icon in the upper right corner. As follow:

**Step 3*****:*** Tap **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**Position Mode**</mark>**]** on the page,  As follow:

**Step 4*****:*** Select **\[**<mark style="color:blue;">**Hedge Mode**</mark>**],** Finished editing. As follow:

**\[One-way Mode]:** Only one direction of position is allowed for the same contract, either long or short . It supports only a single direction of position, prohibiting the simultaneous holding of long and short positions.

**\[Hedge Mode]:** Allows for the simultaneous holding of positions in both long and short directions for the same contract.   Allows positions in different directions for the same contract can offset each other's risks, reducing overall risk.   Permits adopting opposing investment strategies within the same contract, facilitating better risk management.
